GMC Gossen Metrawatt

At the Nuremberg site, high-quality portable measuring and testing devices are developed and produced under the GMC-I Gossen Metrawatt brand for a wide variety of electronic applications. In Switzerland, products are manufactured for fixed industrial applications under the Camille Bauer label; both brands enjoy an excellent reputation in their respective markets. GMC-I Gossen Metrawatt is the market leader in Germany for portable testing devices. At the end of 2005 capiton, together with the Group CEO, acquired an interest in Metrawatt. This was preceded by the insolvency of the Group company as a result of significant pension burdens. Working closely with management, capiton was able to reorganise the Group and its pension liabilities. With management oversight, the Group went on to build upon a broad product base and blanket regional coverage and was further globalised through acquisitions in the USA and elsewhere. At the same time, virtually the entire product range was refreshed and replaced with an eye towards future growth markets such as renewable energy, smart grid and e-mobility. In 2011 capiton successfully sold the company to M Cap Finance and the GMC management team.
